Insurance Company Protest

For the past, year the Pennsylvania Alliance
for Retired Americans has been working on
Health Care Reform. We started lobbying before
the bills were even written, to try and make
sure our representatives included improvements
to Medicare services and solvency. Health Care
Reform efforts have progressed and stalled for
months now over disagreements on how
to move forward.
However, one thing is for certain: the status quo is not an option. However, there is one special interest that is spending millions of dollars trying to preserve our broken system - the
insurance companies.
This Tuesday, HCAN (Health Care for America Now) is holding an action in DC to counter big insurance's final offensive. The insurance companies are going to be in Washington to mount a major effort to stop reform and we have to be there to stand in their way and tell Congress to do what's right for the people, not the insurance companies.
Remember, some of the pro-seniors reforms that insurance companies are fighting are:
- No co-pays for preventative services under Medicare
- Closing the Part D "Doughnut Hole"
- Cutting overpayments to insurance companies who administer Medicare Part C that hurt Medicare's solvency
- Making insurance more affordable and accessable to early retirees before reaching Medicare age
RSVP below to join reform advocates next Tuesday, March 9, on a bus to DC for a final push for health care reform and against the insurance companies:
